Tuesday 23 October - Fish River Canyon - Luderitz - Sossusvlei

Nice late departure to avoid the morning fog on the west coast of Namibia. We got airborne at 11 AM and headed west to Luderitz. We overflew the lodge again and headed north west. Again fantastic scenery. We stopped at Luderitz for fuel and wanted to have a look at the ghost town of Kollmanskuppe. We then headed north and followed the coast line. There were still many patches of fog covering the coastline. We flew through a canyon towards Sossusvlei and landed on a nice gravel strip. We just finished a nice dinner and discussing what to do tomorrow. The activities to climb the highest dune are fully booked. So we have to make a plan of what is next. Lets see what happens tomorrow. Are we staying another night or are we continuing to Windhoek?

The aircraft are still there after a windy night

  1. Fish River Lodge, is dat aan de rand van een oude meteoor-inslag? Of gewoon een canyon?

  2. Is aan de rand van een canyon. De canyon is bijna net zo groot als de Grand Canyon in the USA
